Coffee enthusiasts and reliable coffee vendors for businesses know that there are either
espresso drinkers or fans of coffee made in a drip machine or in a French press
– here are a few of the most important differences between the two ways to
prepare a flavorful, refreshing cup of coffee:

The fineness of the
ground – espresso machines use dark roasts ground into a very fine power, while
the grounds used in drip machines are much coarser;

The time needed – it
takes only seconds to prepare a great espresso (if the process includes the
grinding as well, the timeframe might be up to a couple of minutes, but by no
means longer), while drip machines can take up to ten minutes to pass all the
water through the ground added into the filter;

The brewing process –
espresso is made with a small amount of water that is heated to almost boiling
temperature and forced through the ground quickly, using air pressure,
extracting all the flavor from the ground and creating a small amount of coffee
that is very intense and very dark. In the case of coffee brewed in a dripping
machine, the water is also heated, but there is no pressure involved, the hot
water simply passes through the ground, extracting as much flavor as it can
without presure, creating a flavorful, but longer, milder drink.
